听力原文: A proud US father has named his son after a computer software term. Jon Blake

Cusack, from Michigan, told local newspapers the US traditional way of adding "Junior" or " II " after a boys name was too common. So, when his son was born last week, he decided on the name Jon Blake Cusack 2.0, as if he were a software upgrade. Mr Cusack admitted that it took months to persuade his wife, Jamie, to accept the idea. Mrs Cusack said she asked several friends whether they can accept this name or not. All the men, she said, felt the name was "cool". However, her women friends did not think so. "I think the women will end up liking it," she said. Mr Cusack told the local newspaper he got the idea from a film called The Legend of 1900, in which an abandoned baby is given the name 1900 to remember the year of its birth. "I thought that if they can do it, why cant we?" he said. After little Jon Version 2.0 was born, Mr Cusack even sent a celebratory email to the family and friends designed to look as though he and his wife had created new software. "I wrote things like there are a lot of new features from Version 1.0 with additional features from Jamie," he said. And he is already planning for his sons future. "If he has a child, he could name it 3.0," he said. Questions 23 to 25 are based on the passage you have just heard. 23. What do we know about "Jon Black Cusack 2.0" according to the passage? 24. What do the names of "1900" and "Jon Version 2.0" have in common? 25. What does "Version 1.0" refer to according to the passage?23.

A.They"re both untraditional.

B.They"re to be equally popular.

C.They both tell about the births.

D.They"re both connected with computer.

听力原文:The term "balanced diet" is constantly heard but rarely explained. What it means

听力原文: The term "balanced diet" is constantly heard but rarely explained. What it means is a diet that includes a combination of several different food types, including grains, fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, dairy products, fats and oils.

Crucial to the idea of a balanced diet is including foods in the right proportions; the aim is to get all the nutrients your body needs while maintaining a healthy weight. The US government provides a basic idea of what nutrients we need on their website.

It isn't a case of having roughly equal measures of everything. There should be a lot of some kinds and just a little of others. Some fats and oils, for example, are important in the diet for various reasons. But you only need a small amount compared with foods such as vegetables.

In the UK, the Food Standards Agency has developed a programme called The Balance of Good Health to show people what proportions and types of foods make up a healthy balanced diet. This divides foods into five different groups. The largest groups are bread and vegetables, followed by milk and meat. The smallest by far is the salt and sugar group.

Fresh fruit and vegetables are low in fat, calories and salt, and an excellent source of vitamins, minerals and fibre. Most of us don't eat enough to meet the current recommendation of three to five servings of vegetables and two to four servings of fruit a day. Protein-rich foods and dairy foods are needed in more moderate amounts. Your diet should include two to three servings of milk or dairy products a day, for example.

(33)

A.A diet largely consisting of fruits and vegetables.

B.A diet including grains, fresh fruit and vegetables, and meat.

C.A diet including a combination of several different food types.

D.A diet without fat and oils.

听力原文: Yuppies are young people who cam a lot of money and live in a style. that is too expensive for most people. If you are invited to a yuppie dinner party, don't be surprised if you are offered freshly-cooked insects as a first course. While the idea of eating fried insects fills most of us with horror, insect eating is becoming highly fashionable. For example, in the media industry, successful executives are often seen to eat fried or boiled insects from time to time while working at their desks. These safe-to-eat insects can be found and ordered on the Internet. And young people are logging on to exotic food websites and ordering samples of prepared insects to serve at their dinner parties. Although the idea of eating insects is probably disgusting to most of us, few people would claim that pigs, chickens and some kinds of seafood we often eat are examples of great beauty. One day insects could be marketed and sold as a food item in supermarkets.' According to their fans, they are not only high in protein and low in fat, but also very tasty. But until our attitudes to food change fundamentally, it seems that insect eaters will remain a select few.

(33)

A.Because we might be offered a dish of insects.

B.Because nothing but freshly cooked insects are served.

C.Because some yuppies like to horrify guests with insects as food.

D.Because we might meet many successful executives in the media industry.

听力原文: Many days seem to bring numerous tasks and responsibilities. All of which apparently must be tackled right away. You spend a day putting out files, but by the end of the day, you haven't accomplished any of the really important things you set out to do. In desperation, you draft a to-do list, but most days, you can make little progress with it.

When you look at the list each morning, a big fat cloud of doom is right at the top. Those difficult, complex, important tasks, that are so crucial to get done, and so easy to avoid. Plenty of us create a to-do list to address feelings of being overwhelmed, but we rarely use these tools to their best effect. They wind out being guilt-provoking reminders of the fact that we're over-committed and losing control of our priorities.

According to Timothy Pychyl, a professor of psychology at Carlton University in Ottawa, people often draw up a to-do list, and then that's it. The list itself becomes the day's achievement, allowing us to feel we've done something useful without taking on any real work. In fact, drawing up the list becomes a way of avoiding the work itself. Too often, the list is seen as the accomplishment for the day, reducing the immediate guilt of not working on the tasks at hand by investing energy in the list, says Pychyl. When a list is used like this, it's simply another way in which we-lie to ourselves.

(30)

A.They often feel insecure about their jobs.

B.They are unable to decide what to do first.

C.They are incompetent to fulfill their responsibilities.

D.They feel burdened with numerous tasks every day.
